Is this a fun game? I only saw it and played it once at a california extreme a while back. I only gave it a few games, but walked away thinking it wasn't very fun.
But I'm interested in your honest opinions. Is it valuable and sought after because of the connection with the group, because of the rarity, because it's really fun, or a combination? Do I need one for the museum? Like comparing it to Major Havoc - another rare game that sells for crazy money (dedicated). That game IMHO is truly one of the funnest games ever...in addition to being rare. Is this the same? Thanks, John |

I think it's fun.. in a cheesy 80s kinda way. That said, I really like playing TRON, which is not everyone's cup of tea. I don't think the game play is in the same league as Major Havoc.
It sounds like you have it pretty much figured out with respect to why the prices are high--a combination of factors. It really is a beautifully designed cabinet. I'm betting a lot were converted as well--the configuration of the machine lends itself well to easy conversion to any number of upright shooters that came later. More conversions would make it a rarer find now. |

Well in a way journey is like tron, but has alttile more to it. You play 5 different games(tron has 4). Once you beat all five and the band members have their instruments back. A final screen comes up with the band on stage at a concert. This is where you become the bouncer and stop the kids from entering 3 doors on the stage. Once one gets through, they all rush in and take the members insturments again and you play all 5 levels again but this time it gets harder (like tron)..Also in TRON you dont know what level your gonna pick , where journey you can see what game you can pick..
But the topper of all this is when the band is playing, a tape player in the machine starts to play a journey tape. I replaced mine with a LIVE Journey tape..lol...alittle better then just 1 song looping!!! Anywys im VERY surprised no other groups in the 80's picked up on this and made more. I could see KISS or QUEEN or HALEN doing one... The whole thing with the tape player inside does make this game UNIQUE!!!! Also the whole cab is the album cover. It deffinitly screams 80's..................................

I'm not arguing with it. I am just saying if I price something 4x more than the market, I would get yelled at, but on these forums it's "ok" for some people to do it. Baffles me to no end.
