Pre-mix or post-mix?

If pre, I'm not an expert, but you probably only need to find a means to chill your cold plate.

If post, well, that's a whole 'nother ball of fun. I'll get back to you when I'm done with my WunderBar gun setup. I can help you with some of the basics, but, as stated, I haven't finished mine yet due to the water quality (well water) issues that need to be addressed first.

Here is an old website I have bookmarked: http://www.boneville.net/soda/

umm.... i dont know lol.. i believe it all mixes right at the head so thats post mix???

i believe the water comes in, gets carboneted, then chilled??? then mixes with the syrup at the head. Theres co2 pumps that pump the syrup i believe...

Hey stop by sometime and I will show you mine. Not set-up at the moment, but I have a 6 head unit with a drop in. You need to chill the water and syrup lines. I'll dig up some info I have and send it over to you.

If you need to use BIB syrup, then it is post. Pre uses corny kegs.

You don't need to chill the carbonator, but do need the get the cold plate downright chilly. It will cool your water and syrups. Give the website I referenced a look and you will be most of the way there. They don't go into the brix process much, but that's the last thing you'll need to do except ongoing maintenance.

My WunderBar gun setup is mostly pieces. Since you have a fountain head setup, it should be mostly self-contained. Make sure those pumps are clean clean clean. Likewise, the soda heads, too.

The Sam's club here sells the Coke line of Syrup. I think it was around $50 for a Box.

yeah i saw that.. our local one has coke and some generics..

you can also order more stuff on samsclub.com.....

My setup has the connector for the box/bag syrup so thats post mix??? i guess lol

i do-not-yet have a cold plate.. Im not sure if im going to to the official aluminum cold plate route or if in going to try to make my own.. i found some water chillers but i am unsure if they can handle carbonated water( if theres any copper in there ill get sick!!!!!!!)

***so-with the chiller plate im pumping syrup and the carbonated water through in seperate channels? as in that im chilling both??? ****

i was thinking for a homebrew get alot of stainless or aluminum tubing and make a coil for carbonated water and a coil for each syrup, then wrap the coils in "cold packs" and then install all that mess in a larger mini fridge i have then set the fridge to just above freezing... or i could use 3 of something like these:http://www.transmissioncoolers.us/Me...roduct_Count=0

and use a small fan inside the fridge to blow the cold air across the coils...

not ideal but it might just work...

Yes, that is post-mix. Do you have Coke, generic, or (shudder) Pepsi BIB connectors? Either way, they are easy to change out.

I'd get a cold plate and be done with it.
